South Yorkshire Network

We recognise the importance of getting your voice heard at a regional and a national level. With the present economic climate we know that this is more important than ever. We also know that it is imperative that we don’t work in isolation. In our region we have 3 Federations, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham, who often work together. We are sometimes joined by Tenant and Resident groups from Sheffield, who do not have a Federation at the present time.

By working together and forming a network for South Yorkshire we are able to respond to issues collectively – giving us more influence at a national level. To date we have held a conference that brought together all four ALMOs in South Yorkshire and looked at the future of council housing. We have also held workshops on various topics which inclued joint responses to government consultation. But it doesn’t stop there, we have attended many national conferences as a network the latest being the TAROE conference in West Bromwich

Sometimes we meet with other groups across our region the discuss matters that concern us all.

South Yorkshire Tenants and Residents Network have responded to the Department of Communities and Local Government Consultation ‘Implementing Social Housing Reform – Directions to the Social Housing Regulator'.
