The Sheffield City Region includes the four local authorities within South Yorkshire (Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield) as well as Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire, Derbyshire County Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and the Peak District National Park Authority covering the northern part of the East Midlands region.

The Sheffield City Region has identified a number of strategic priorities which they think will benefit from a more collaborative approach at a city region level. They are determined to get the level of working right, with a real emphasis on local delivery. Collaboration needs to show genuine added value, where working together means bigger and better opportunities for increased economic growth for the city region economy.
