Berneslai Homes Holds Annual General Meeting

Berneslai Homes Chair of the Board Suzy Brain England OBE presents Councillor Newman with a glass decanter, in thanks for his valuable contribution to Berneslai Homes.

On Thursday 20th January Berneslai Homes hosted its 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Digital Media Centre with over 50 tenants and leaseholders attending.

The evening was a celebration of the continued successful work of the housing organisation. Speeches were given by Cllr Newman on behalf of Barnsley Council and Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board. They both talked about the positive changes that have been made to Barnsley’s housing estates, the communities and individual people's lives though continued investment, the hard work of staff and the involvement of the Barnsley Federation of Tenants and Residents.

The AGM was the last which Cllr Newman will attend due to his stepping down as a councillor in May later this year. As an appreciation of his valuable contribution to the work of Berneslai Homes he was presented with a cut glass decanter and matching glasses.
