Federation Funding Pot – Tell your
Tara!
Do you live in an area covered by a Tenants and Residents Association?
Do you have an idea how to improve your local community?
Are you a member of a Tara
and have a project that you have always dreamt of doing but have never
had the money to undertake?
Well now’s your opportunity to make that dream a reality.
Barnsley Federation of tenants and Residents are offering every
Tara in the Borough the change to make applications for
funding up to £500 for a project that will address the criteria listed
below:
A project that brings the community together
A project that promotes tenant/resident involvement
A project that addresses isolation
A project that improves the skills of the local community
A project that improves or enhances the environment
But here is the twist – it will be the Tara’s that decide who gets what.
The format is called Participatory Budgeting and is a new way of
working.
Claire Hawley Federation Advisor adds” this is an innovative and tenant
lead initiative that sees our customers at the heart of the decision
making process and empowers local residents to have a say in how the
funds are allocated”.
So if you have a project in mind for example – a community garden or a
befriending scheme or maybe an
intergenerational project that sees the elderly working with the
young or even a feel good event in your event that brings your community
together why not submit your application.
The possibilities are endless – just let your Tara know your idea!
Unsure if you have a Tara
in your area – then contact Gillian Totty on 772727.
The form is easy to complete and if you need any help just contact the
Federation office.
