ABOUT US

	Barnsley Federation of Tenants and Residents Association is a non-political voluntary organisation. Set up, and managed by tenants and residents of Barnsley our aim is to be of benefit to the people of Barnsley.
	Involved in local issues as we are, we also represent the views of Barnsley people at regional and national level. We support and encourage groups of tenants and residents to make their wishes known about housing and environmental issues.
	Tenants and Resident Associations (TARAs) TARAs are groups of people in local areas who volunteer to work together to represent their own communities on local issues. TARAs give a stronger organised and united voice to local service providers to create and support sustainable communities.
	The Federation is the umbrella for the TARAs, supporting and adding strength to resolving local issues, and meeting local needs. We provide help, advice, assistance and guidance to established TARAs and to those wishing to establish a TARA. Individual and Group training can be provided.
